Who Should Attend New York ACE 2006?
This educational activity is designed for interventional cardiology,
endovascular surgery, and radiology clinicians, nurses, and other
healthcare professionals with an interest in cardiovascular and
endovascular therapies.
Learning Objectives
With recent advancements in the treatment of the heart and vascular
system, and an increased focus on efficiencies created through the
development of multidisciplinary interventional teams, there is a need
for healthcare providers to receive updates in areas associated with
interventional patient management, including:
- Patient selection criteria
- Adjunctive therapy
- Case management
- Technical and therapeutic alternatives for patient care
Attendees at New York ACE 2006 will increase their knowledge of the
latest diagnostic and therapeutic tools for treating their patients. Upon
completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:
- Discuss diagnostic and treatment options in the fields of interventional
cardiology, including PFO closure, LA appendage closure, LV support
with PVAD, and the treatment of chronic occlusions
- Discuss diagnostic and treatment options in the field of endovascular
surgery, including femoral and carotid intervention, treatment of aortic
aneurysms, and use of vascular embolization techniques
- Compare and contrast current and future medical, surgical, and
endovascular treatment options to make improved clinical decisions
based on outcomes, efficiencies, and cost
- Comprehend and apply an integrated approach to the diagnosis and
treatment of cardiac and vascular disease using an integrated medical
team including, but not limited to, vascular surgeons, cardiologists,
and radiologists
Accreditation and Designation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the
Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education (ACCME) through the sponsorship of Lenox Hill
Hospital. Lenox Hill Hospital is accredited by the ACCME to sponsor
continuing medical education and seminars for physicians.
Lenox Hill Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum of
28.5 AMA PRA Category I Credits. Physicians should only claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Sixty minutes of physician participation in New York ACE equals 1 credit.
This does not include breakfast meetings, dinner meetings, simulator
workshops, or other specialty programs. It does include the ACEing the
Interventional Cardiology Board Exam Workshop.
CME certificates will be awarded only to New York ACE registrants
submitting program evaluation forms. A certificate of attendance is
available for all attendees.
Please note that the American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) and
the American Association of Physician’s Assistants (AAPA) accept AMA
Physician’s Recognition Award Credit(s).

This program has been planned and implemented in accordance with the
ANCC standards by EduPro Resources LLC (EDUPRO). EDUPRO is an
approved provider of continuing nursing education in nursing by
New Jersey. EDUPRO is an approved provider of continuing education in
nursing by the New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), which is
accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC’s) Commission on
Accreditation, Provider Number P208-7/05-08. EDUPRO is also an
approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing,
Provider Number CEP-14387.
Nursing contact hours will be awarded based upon the number of
sessions attended. Each person requesting a nursing education certificate
is responsible for filling out the form identifying the sessions attended
and submitting the original at the end of the activity. No certificates will
be issued after the program is over.
Approval status as a provider refers only to its continuing education
activity and does not imply EDUPRO, NJSNA, or ANCC endorsement
of any commercial products.
Program Evaluation
All registrants are asked to complete a program evaluation to provide
feedback on New York ACE 2006 program content, presentation, and
fair balance. Evaluation forms will be provided with meeting materials.
Faculty Disclosure
As a sponsor accredited by the ACCME, Lenox Hill Hospital must ensure
balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all its sponsored
educational activities. EduPro Resources LLC is an accredited provider
of continuing nursing education by NJSNA and must also ensure the
standards of the ANCC Commission on Accreditation are met. All
faculty, including course directors and planning committee members,
participating in a sponsored activity are required to disclose to the activity
